The Wilting Flowers
Every Sabbath morning Lily eagerly gets out of bed for morning worship with her family before going to Sabbath school at church. There, she would sing songs and listen to stories about God's love. She enjoyed helping others and during children’s Sabbath school would help her peers to find verses in the bible or to share a snack with. One afternoon after the Divine service, she was leaving church with her family when she noticed that the soil in the garden was dry and the flowers were wilting and in need of water. Lily decided to get some water from the basement of the church to water the flowers in the garden.
As she was finishing, the pastor came over and thanked her for what she did. Lily smiled and said, "I just wanted to do my part and help out." She told him that she believes God was using her to take care of the flowers.
The pastor smiled and said, "Lily, you have really shown God's love by being helpful. When you do things like these we show that we care and that we are following in Jesus' footsteps."
Lily felt proud and happy that she was doing what Jesus would have done.
Be like Lily, make it a habit to always look for ways to be helpful and show God's love to others.
"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." - Mark 10:45
